Idoro-Ukpom Abak Road Underway (Posted May 8, 2010)

By Essien Ndueso
S/A to Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information & Social Re-Orientation

In a bid to further open up the State and create a link to the Hospital that was built in the unaccessible Ukpom Abak in Abak local government area, the State government has assured that the Idoro - Ukpom - Abak road will soon be completed.

Commissioner for Information Aniekan Umanah gave this assurance shortly after an inspection exercise with the construction engineers handling the road project.

He said because of the importance placed on the road by Gov Akpabio, he has been mandated to assist in monitoring the progress of work.

Mr. Umanah who addressed a mammoth crowd of youths on a solidarity march in support of Gov Akpabio, maintained that the government has also approved immediate construction of several internal roads in Abak before the advent of the rainy season.

The Abak Youth Council Chairman Ubong Etukudo who spoke on behalf of the youths commended the commissioner for being a great ambassador from the area.

The youths reassured of their readiness to continue to soar and fly with Gov Godswill Akpabio, maintaining that the governor will get nothing short of complete support from Abak youths in the general elections.

It will be recalled that the governor had in a recent broadcast announced his intention to push massive roads construction to other local governments such as Etinan, Mkpat Enin and Abak.
